Each bottle of J&J Vintners was crafted through the efforts of a talented group of people who are committed to making each wine as well as each visitor's experience unforgettable. We have experienced staff in all aspects of winemaking including Viticulture (the cultivation of grapes), enology (the science of winemaking) and providing customers with a unique and enjoyable experience. The combination of these three elements has provided us with a high level of expertise, enthusiasm and a continued sense of purpose in every bottle of J&J Vintners' wines.

 

Jody Middleton

(Co-Founder & Winemaker)


Jody Middleton co-founded J&J Vintners with the dream of developing handcrafted wines celebrating the outstanding vineyards of the walla walla valley. As a graduate in both enology and Viticulture with many years of practical experience working on vineyards and wineries, jody is responsible for managing winemaking activities, selecting vineyards and determining the final blend for every release of J&J Vintners. In addition to his focus on quality and craftsmanship, he brings new ideas and techniques to each vintage.

Callan Mercer

(Assistant winemaker)


Callan is involved at various stages during the winemaking process including harvest and crush, fermentation, blending, and finally, bottling. Callan is very detailed-oriented and enjoys working in small batches; therefore, he ensures that every vintage meets the standards set by the company regarding quality and consistency.

Elowen Ashcroft

(Operations manager - vineyards)


As manager of vineyard operations elowen monitors vineyard performance (vigor and condition) which ultimately determines when it will be ready to pick. She is also involved in maintaining healthy vines using sustainable methods. This results in wines that accurately reflect the characteristics of their respective vineyards.

Thatcher Rowe

(Cellar operations manager)


Thatcher is responsible for coordinating all cellar-related activities such as maintaining barrel storage areas, performing routine equipment checks, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, monitoring wine conditions (oxidation, spoilage etc.) and ensuring that all wines age uniformly so they can maintain their flavor profiles over time.

Maren Sinclair

(Guest services/experience coordinator)

Maren coordinates all guest services at the winery including welcoming guests upon arrival and guiding them through educational tasting sessions. Her extensive wine knowledge combined with her friendly demeanor creates a memorable experience for visitors from everywhere.

Soren Whitlock

(Wine club/wine events coordinator)


Soren coordinates membership opportunities for the wine club as well as communicating directly with customers regarding special releases, new products or upcoming events. He strives to develop long-term relationships with customers and keep them informed about the most recent J&J Vintners' product offerings.
